Have to admit, I can’t get enough of Supertramp’s album Breakfast in America.  I bought it when I was back in high school.  Best album I bought that year—and I used to buy a lot of music.  Still do.  But something about Breakfast in America stuck out that year.  Maybe it was the tongue in cheek humor Rodger Hodgson put into his lyrics.  Perhaps it was the melodies that felt so classic yet so different from anything I’d heard previously.

But, just maybe, it could have been that it was just a really solid album.

Each song had something to offer, from the ever-popular Take the Long Way Home to Casual Conversations.  I loved each track, and still do.

I recently “rediscovered” it.  I’m listening to it right now.  If you like a solid rock album that glows with fantastic tracks that will make you hit repeat, this is what you’ve been looking for.  More than once I’ve been late because of it.

Besides, who can blame you if you’re not around?

Take the long way home.

😀

      1. Amen. I like a lot of stuff and genres, but I feel like the 60’s and 70’s was the golden age of rock. It was no longer an experiment like in the 50’s, nor the complexity of the 80’s. I love that time of music.

      3. Me, too. 🙂 Although I have no skill for “name that band.” If I hear rock music that I like it’s usually from that era. It probably helps that I listened to it a lot because of my parents…

      4. I feel you. I can’t do name that band either. But I have a coworker that is crazy good at it. We have hair band Tuesdays. She has to name the band and song by the first refrain. We have fun.
